Book and Bed

A place to stay for book-lovers in Japan.

Bibliophiles, take note! Book and Bed, based in Tokyo and Kyoto, is an ‘accommodation bookshop’. ‘The perfect setting for a good night’s sleep is something you will not find here’, the website explains. Visitors are encouraged to curl up in a bookshelf with something to read; with over 1,700 books in both English and Japanese to choose from, sleep is secondary to the experience of losing yourself in a good story. A night at Book and Bed will set you back around ¥ 4,800.
