Nomikomu is an online arts platform introducing original projects, imaginative people and cultural goings-on in the UK and Japan.
Nomikomu was created by sisters Kerensa and Xenobe Purvis. Having lived in both Japan and the UK, we were keen to establish a dialogue between the two countries. Nomikomu was the result: a place dedicated to exploring the cultural differences and affinities between these island nations.
Our features offer a fresh and focused slant on Anglo-Japanese art and design, while our carefully curated shop brings some of our favourite pieces to the attention of a wider audience.
The Japanese word Nomikomu means ‘to gulp’; please drink deeply.
