Anna Gleeson: Giant Earrings

Paper artist Anna Gleeson redefines the way we think about earrings.

Anna Gleeson began working life with internships in bookbinding and papermaking. It was only during a three year stint in Tokyo that this Australian-born artist found her calling: paper art. From an amazing array of materials - books, paper bags, newspapers and more - Gleeson fashioned an inventive portfolio of creations. Our particular favourites are her earrings; giant, geometric patterned, and made entirely from paper. She exhibited these earrings at Store in Tokyo in 2010 and has since started to think of earrings as 'site-specific, hanging sculptures'.
