Friday Favourites: 19

A few Friday Favourites to keep you occupied this weekend.

1. The BBC have made a very useful running order for those of you hosting Burns Night festivities this Saturday.

2. Photographers Ueda Shoji and Jacques Henri Lartique examine the significance of their discipline in a new exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum. The show looks at their own photography as well as their responses to each other's work, and is organised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography and the Asahi Shimbun-sha in special collaboration with Donation Jacques Henri Lartigue in France.

3. Peckham Vision is a movement very close to our hearts. National Rail are currently planning to redevelop Peckham Rye station by clearing out all the local businesses and creative start ups in the buildings surrounding, and Peckham Vision hopes to combat this.

The best action you can take right now is to get your views in about the plans to Network Rail and the Council by Sunday 26th January. To do this, please go to peckhamryestation.com which explains the process. We urge you to email [email protected] with your views and comments!

4. The phenomenon known as Diamond Fuji occurs when sunset and sunrise align perfectly with the peak of Japan's highest mountain, creating a mysterious, jewel-like image. This biannual occurrence is best viewed from Sunshine City's sixtieth floor observatory, with its 360 degree views of Tokyo and surroundings. The exact date for the first diamond is January 27, but the effect can be seen a few days before and after that as well. Don't miss the opportunity completely though - you'll have to wait until the middle of November for the next alignment.

5. Finger 5: Japan's answer to the Jackson 5 - a group consisting of four brothers and one sister from the Tamamoto family - sing one of our favourite karaoke songs, Koi no Dial 6700 (Love Call 6700).
