Eiji Watanabe: A Butterfly's Eye View

A throwback to artist Eiji Watanabe's many paper butterflies.

Images of Eiji Watanabe's butterflies have done the internet rounds already; they have been blogged and shared like there's no tomorrow. But we thought it might be nice to remind ourselves of the work of one of our old favourites. And butterflies, we've heard, can remedy anything, even Arctic January temperatures. Watanabe, who lives and works in Japan, shows an exceptional attention to detail in his notorious A Butterfly's Eye View, cutting careful shapes out of field guides in the form of hundreds of butterflies. The result is remarkable - an expanse of delicate wings and a testament to this artist's amazing patience. We can't wait to see what he will do next.
